Bethlehem – Palestinian authorities intercepted three Israeli-registered trucks loaded with construction debris and solid waste while they were attempting to unlawfully transport their cargo into Palestinian territory. The trucks were subsequently returned to their point of origin inside Israel.
The Environment Quality Authority (EQA) stated that the operation was carried out in coordination with the Customs Police, the Environmental Police, and the Palestinian Liaison Office. The three trucks were detected and stopped in Bethlehem Governorate while transporting waste allegedly intended for disposal within Palestinian areas, in violation of Palestinian environmental regulations.
According to the EQA, official seizure reports and technical assessments were prepared, and the necessary legal procedures were completed before the trucks were ordered to return to their source without unloading their contents.
The authority emphasized that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal transfer of Israeli waste into Palestinian territory and to protect public health and the environment from the risks associated with such practices. It also called on residents to report any similar incidents that could threaten Palestinian natural resources and environmental safety.
