The Global Sumud (الصمود ) Flotilla has announced the launch of preparations for a new maritime mission to the Gaza Strip in the coming months, as part of ongoing efforts to support the territory's residents and challenge the blockade imposed on Gaza.
Beheshti Ismail Songur, the flotilla's representative in Türkiye, said preparations for the upcoming mission are already underway. He noted that the initiative is expected to involve wider participation from countries, organizations, and solidarity activists from around the world, along with a larger number of vessels than previous missions.
Songur emphasized that messages and testimonies received from within Gaza highlight the growing humanitarian needs of the population and underscore the importance of maintaining international solidarity with Palestinians amid the difficult conditions facing the territory.
He added that the Global Sumud Flotilla continues to mobilize international support and raise awareness of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, stressing that civilian and humanitarian initiatives play an important role in delivering assistance and keeping attention focused on the Palestinian issue at the international level.
The announcement comes amid ongoing international calls to increase humanitarian assistance to Gaza's residents and to alleviate the humanitarian consequences of the continuing war and blockade on the territory.
