Israeli Authorities Issue Orders to Remove Trees from 310 Dunums and Seize Land South of Jenin

 

GHLands : Jenin – Israeli occupation authorities issued a series of new military orders on Thursday targeting land in several towns across the Jenin Governorate. The orders include notices to remove trees and vegetation from extensive areas, as well as an order to seize land in the town of Marka, south of the governorate.

Orders to Remove Trees and Vegetation

According to the military orders, Israeli forces issued six orders requiring the removal of trees and vegetation from a total area of 310.868 dunums, distributed across several towns and locations.

The orders target 51.26 dunums of land in the town of Ya'bad, near its main entrance; 66.698 dunums in the town of Arraba along the Arraba–Ya'bad road; and an additional 32.21 dunums at Arraba's main entrance.

They also target 52.44 dunums of land in Arraba along the Jenin–Nablus road, as well as another 71.81 dunums along the same road opposite Fahma refugee camp. A further 36.45 dunums of land in the towns of Anza and Ajjah are also included in the orders.

Land Seizure Order in Marka

In a related development, the Israeli authorities issued a military order to seize 3.536 dunums of land in the town of Marka, specifically in the Al-Hafira area.

The order comes amid a series of measures targeting Palestinian land in the Jenin Governorate, including the removal of trees and vegetation and the seizure of agricultural land.

Escalating Measures Targeting Agricultural Land

The orders form part of an escalation in Israeli measures across the Jenin Governorate, raising concerns over their direct impact on agricultural land and the livelihoods of local residents.

Landowners and farmers warn that the removal of trees and seizure of land could cause significant damage to agricultural property and threaten livelihoods, amid continued measures imposing growing restrictions on the use of land and access to it.
